Nintendo Switch Demand Is On Par Or Greater Than Wii, Says GameStop

We all know the Nintendo Switch has been selling like hotcakes worldwide. The largest video game retailer in North America, GameStop, has went out to suggest that it’s selling even better than Wii.

Here are the full comments from GameStop’s Senior Director of Merchandising, Eric Bright.

We are constantly selling out of our weekly allocations of the Switch. We kind of go up and down with stock. Nintendo did this before with the Wii. It was highly successful and extremely hard to find. Looking at demand – I can’t comment on rate of sale – demand for the Switch seems to be similar to the Wii or greater.

Eric added how much trouble the company went through to make sure the SNES Classic Edition is available for their online customers.

We went through a lot of pain and effort to make sure we could service our online customers. It wasn’t perfect, but it did allow us to sell out of our initial allotment within minutes.
