Sensor Tower has reported the first metrics for the Nintendo Switch Online app, which lets players access SplatNet 2, invite friends to matches, and use voice chat.
According to Sensor Tower, the Nintendo Switch Online app has been downloaded approximately 780,000 times worldwide, which makes it around 17% of the Nintendo Switch install base.
Breaking down this figure further, the number of downloads made on the iOS App Store and Android Play Store is nearly 50:50 – 400k downloads on iOS, and 380k on Android.
The Nintendo Switch Online app has received tons of criticisms from players for its poor voice chat integration and lack of features. Sensor Tower says user reviews are currently 72% negative and 28% positive on the US App Store,. Japanese players seem much more forgiving, with 77% positive and 23% negative reviews on the App Store.
