It looks like customers of the popular Nintendo TOKYO retail outlet in Shibuya will now be able to earn an extra bonus with their merchandise!
Starting from today, every customer at the store can earn back 1% of their purchase amount as My Nintendo Gold Coins (e.g. 1,000 yen = 10 Gold Coins). Nintendo Switch owners will then be able to use these coins to pay for digital titles on the Nintendo Switch eShop – or claim other rewards from the My Nintendo website.
In order to claim this Gold Coin bonus, customers will need to show their My Nintendo QR code to staff when making a purchase at the store. However, it’s not clear if this offer is exclusive to those with Japanese My Nintendo accounts only.
“Starting today, if you show your Nintendo Account QR code at the time of payment at Nintendo TOKYO, 1% of the purchase price will be returned as My Nintendo Gold Points. Earned points can be used to purchase download software, etc. on the Nintendo eShop.” (rough translation)
