Nintendo Tops Japanese Game Sales Charts For 2023
Japanese publication Famitsu has posted their final game sales data research report for the year of 2023, revealing that Nintendo once again dominated the charts for the 19th year in a row.
According to Famitsu’s data, the entire Top 10 best selling games in Japan for 2023 were released for the Nintendo Switch, with The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom sitting at number 1 with over 1.9 million units sold. At number 2 and number 3 were Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Pikmin 4 respectively.

In terms of hardware, the Switch once again came out on top over its competitor consoles, having moved over 4 million units in 2023. This figure is a massive 1.5 million units over the second place console the PS5, which moved around 2.5 million units.
