Nintendo: We Will Always Support Indie Games

Nintendo has come a long way since the days of their first digital storefronts Wii Shop and DSi Shop.

When asked about indie games, Nintendo’s Damon Baker talked about the long process Nintendo had faced in order to create an environment that resonates with independent developers. Baker also mentioned the importance of indie games to Nintendo, and pledges to continue supporting them.

All of these things have been a work in progress to create an environment that’s much easier to navigate and it’s really been resonating with the indie community. …It’s important to the company. This is a long-term play.
