In 2022, Nintendo acquired a plot of land in Kyoto to build a new Development Center for its games and other products.
Now, the company has shared more detailed plans for the building, which will be officially called the “Technology Development Center”. It is planned to be completed by March 2029, and will “serve as a new research and development base for Nintendo’s software and hardware” containing ” functions and infrastructure required for future research and development, including development servers”. Nintendo will also continue investing and growing this the center over time.
