Following the announcement of Miitomo’s closure yesterday, Nintendo has released a comprehensive FAQ for players curious on what’s going to happen to their in-game currency and costumes.
According to Nintendo of America’s FAQ, no refunds will be provided for all Miitomo coins and Miitomo items, so it’s best to spend them before the app closes. Platinum points earned on My Nintendo from Miitomo activities will continue to remain on the My Nintendo account, but they couldn’t be used to spend on rewards tied to a different app (Super Mario Run for instance). These points can be used on Nintendo 3DS or Wii U rewards.
In addition, there will be no formal way of saving content from Miitomo, and Miifoto sharing functionality will cease once the app shuts down.
