Nvidia Confirms Wii Games Run Natively On The Shield

Earlier today we reported that Wii and GameCube games are streamed directly to the Nvidia Shield, thus they aren’t native ports.

Turns out that they are native ports after all. According to Nvidia representatives, the official Nvidia Shield website incorrectly labelled The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess under Geforce Now, which is Nvidia’s streaming service.

So to clear the confusion Nvidia has confirmed that the Wii and GameCube titles are native and remastered ports directly running on the Shield itself, which is great.

Thanks, Alvin.
