Today, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry published a press release on Japan’s involvement in Dubai Expo 2020.
Pikachu, who’s representing Japan as one of the mascots of World Expo 2025, was chosen to be Japan’s ambassador at Dubai Expo 2020. In the press release, Pikachu himself made some comments, which you can read below:
“There are over 800 different types of Pokemon and the world is brimming with diversity. At Dubai Expo 2020, me (Pikachu) and my friends will join forces to support Japan!”
Japanese Pokemon fans were surprised by how fluent Pikachu is, as many thought his species is only capable of expressing their thoughts in simple “Pika Pika” language.
