Pokemon Centers In Japan Experience Massive Crowds Due To Eevee TCG Card Promo
Yesterday, The Pokemon Company started a special promotional campaign for Pokemon Centers in Japan, where they would give out special Eevee TCG cards with artwork drawn by artist Yu Nagaba.
As shared by @deals_Pokemon on Twitter, this campaign has resulted in massive crowds at Pokemon Centers across Japan. In the video clips shared, stores are jammed packed with customers, who are grabbing merchandise within seconds of it appearing on the shelves for a chance to get their Eevee promo cards. The account also says some stores have put queueing systems and purchase limits in place to combat the mob, although its uncertain how effective these measures are.

Aside from the cards being quite desirable for their unique looks, this frenzy is likely part of the ever growing fascination people have with Pokemon Cards as collector’s items. No doubt at least some of these customers intend to resell their promo cards for a profit online, where some cards can go for hundreds of dollars.
