Earlier this week, we reported that Australian press sites would not be getting early review copies of Pokemon Sword/Shield – likely as a means to stop further leaks. Sadly, it looks like the same restrictions will be enforced in other parts of the world as well.
Apparently, several more gaming websites will also not be receiving their review copies of the game until release day itself. According to our own sources, one major gaming news site for Spanish readers has been hit with this restriction. Additionally, prolific writer Liam Robertson also noted three other reporters getting booted out of early reviews.
As it stands, we’re not even sure how many folks will even get to publish professional reviews on release day! It looks like The Pokemon Company are pulling out all the stops possible to clamp down on potential spoilers – and they won’t be budging anytime soon.
We’ll report back if the situation changes. Stay tuned.
