Pokemon GO Begins Rollout Of Big Team Rocket Update
After weeks of teasing, Niantic has officially begun rolling out the latest Team Rocket update for Pokemon GO.
The new update allows players to collect “Mysterious Components” by defeating Team Rocket Grunts. Once six components have been gathered, they can be used to create a “Team Rocket Scanner” which will lead players to one of three Team Rocket Admins: Cliff, Arlo, and Sierra. The three Admins were previously introduced across a series of blogs penned by Professor Willow, which can be found here.
New images of the components and characters can be found in the gallery below:
By defeating the Team Rocket Admins, players will be rewarded with Shiny Shadow Pokemon as well as Unova Stones. Furthermore, it has also been teased that Team Rocket’s Boss Giovanni may be making his own debut in the game soon, packing Legendary Shadow Pokemon.
At the time of this writing, the new gameplay is only live in certain parts of the world (e.g. London, San Francisco, Atlanta, Austin). That said, Niantic’s announcement post seems to suggest a global rollout will be coming very soon.
We’ve received reports of Trainers finding Mysterious Components in a few parts of the world. 🤔 It looks to be a contained phenomenon. For now… 😨 #TeamGORocket pic.twitter.com/kZPRFpYFdd
