The GFK has published their list of bestselling games in the UK for the week ending in January 29th, giving us our first sales data for Pokemon Legends Arceus.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Pokemon Legends Arceus topped the UK boxed sales charts last week, beating out Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and FIFA 22. In addition, the game made up around 50% of all boxed games sold for the week, and was reportedly sold out at many retailers. It should be noted that these figures do not include digital sales, which means the game likely sold much more than GFK’s report.
Compared to other Pokemon titles, GFK reports that Pokemon Legends Arceus had the fourth largest launch of every Pokemon game released in the region to date, behind Sun/Moon, Sword/Shield and Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby.
However, compared to Pokemon titles without dual versions, Pokemon Legends Arceus is easily the best selling overall, comfortably defeating the previous record holder Pokemon Yellow. Needless to say, this also means that it sold much more than its more traditional counterpart Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
