Pokemon Quest Publisher Humbly Begs Chinese Authorities To Approve Their Game
In 2019, NetEase announced a special version of Pokemon Quest that would launch for smartphones in China.
One year has passed since the official announcement and the game is still nowhere to be seen. Turns out that the reason behind its absence is because authorities in China have yet to give the game a license number, which is required before a game could officially release in China.
At the Pokemon Quest booth at China Joy 2020, two pull-up banners with words from the developer team “humbly begging” the authorities were spotted. The banners are translated as follows (by Chinese Nintendo):
“The wind is blowing; I am cold. We’ve waited a year for that approval code. Nobody loves; nobody cares. Can someone spare us some love to share?”
