Pokemon Sword/Shield Base Game Will Receive Free Updates Alongside The Expansion Pass

The Pokemon Company has confirmed that in addition to the Pokemon Sword And Shield Expansion Pass, the regular version of Pokemon Sword And Shield will also receive free updates alongside the Expansion’s release.

As revealed in the Pokemon Direct, players who choose not to buy the Expansion Pass will still receive free updates that add all the new Pokemon into the game. This means that even without the Expansion Pass, players will still be able to obtain newly added new and returning Pokemon via trading or the Pokemon Home service.

This is of course good news for owners of Pokemon Sword And Shield who are not interested in the expansion pass, as it means they will still have access to the new and returning Pokemon and not be forced to pay for the pass.
