Aside from the Pokemon Direct, the Pokemon Company shared another interesting tidbit on their official website: Pokemon Sword & Shield‘s replacement for the Rotomdex, The Rotom Phone!
Instead of Pokemon Sun & Moon‘s Rotomdex, the player character in Pokemon Sword & Shield will be equipped with a Rotom Phone. This Rotom-possessed Smartphone not only holds the player’s Pokedex, but is also armed with a variety of other special functions. However, the only special function that has been revealed so far is the ability to supercharge the player’s bike to make it move faster.
As this new feature for Pokemon Sword & Shield was only just revealed, it is likely that we will be hearing more of the Rotom Phone’s various functions in the future. We will be sure to bring more information as it comes.
