Earlier today, Game Informer released their exclusive coverage for Pokemon Sword/Shield, which has revealed some interesting changes about the games so far. Along with the addition of auto-save, it looks like the games will see another huge change as well.
Game Freak’s Shigeru Ohmori has officially confirmed that the classic EXP. Share item will no longer be present in Pokemon Sword/Shield. Traditionally, the EXP. Share item allows experience from battles to be shared across all Pokemon in one’s party.
Fans need not fret about grinding numerous hours to train each Pokemon, however. When probed further, Ohmori also clarified that experience from battles would instead be shared automatically throughout one’s party, even without items like the EXP Share.
Unfortunately, Ohmori did not confirm if players would be able to toggle off this automatic sharing of EXP. We’ll just have to hope Game Freak clarifies more details later.
