Pokemon Sword/Shield Servers Back Online + Where To Check Server Status

As you may know, Pokemon Sword And Shield has been experiencing extremely heavy traffic on its online services, and its servers have gone down for emergency maintenance a few times since launch.

Thankfully, the maintenance sessions so far haven’t lasted too long, and the servers have since gone back online. However, given that Pokemon Sword And Shield‘s servers have gone down at least twice over its first week on the market, it is likely that the servers may go down again from time to time as usage stabilizes.

For Pokemon Sword And Shield players who are experience problems connecting to its servers in the future, they may want to check whether the servers are down by visiting Nintendo’s Official Network Status webpage here. This page will include a message similar to the one below should the servers be down:

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield

Due to emergency maintenance, Online services are unavailable.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.

Pokemon Sword And Shield are available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
