The Pokemon Company has confirmed the release date for Pokemon TCG Pocket’s trade feature update.

The update is coming as a response to the heavy criticism faced by the game’s original trading feature, and will release on July 29th 2025. The trade feature will be unavailable from July 24th to July 29th to facilitate this update.

A summary of the main adjustments are as follows:

Wishlist Feature Added

You can now indicate which cards you’d like to trade for when trading with other players.
You can add up to 20 cards to your wishlist from the My Cards screen;
you can now also select 3 of your wishlisted cards to display on your profile.

Revisions to the Trade Feature

Trade tokens will be discontinued, and you will no longer need to consume cards in order to trade. Instead, shinedust will be required to trade ♦♦♦, ♦♦♦♦, and ★ rarity cards.
When you obtain a card aready registered in your card dex, the amount of shinedust that is automatically granted will be increased to double the current amount.
You can exchange trade tokens you already have for pack hourglasses and
shinedust at the Shop.

Note: There is a limit to how many pack hourglasses can be exchanged.
