Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and Game Freak, the owners of the Pokemon brand, have registered a new trademark called “Alter Genesis” in Japan.
The purposes for the Alter Genesis trademark include video games and Trading Card Game. Given past history of Pokemon trademarks registered by the owners of The Pokemon Company, Alter Genesis is very likely to be the name of a new Pokemon TCG expansion in Japan, so this likely has nothing to do with the Pokemon video games.
