Weeks ago, Blizzard enraged the global gaming community after rescinding an eSports player’s prize money for his political views on Hong Kong.
Americans and natives from Hong Kong protested outside the venue of Blizzcon 2019 to show their support for Hong Kong and raise awareness of the political situation there. Organizers were giving out free Hong Kong T-shirts and some even dressed as Winnie the Pooh, which many people consider to be the cartoon incarnation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
