During the most recent Pokemon Player’s Cup, a rather interesting Gigantamax Form made a surprise appearance live on stream.
The Pokemon in question was Gigantamax Melmetal, which has yet to be officially announced or revealed by The Pokemon Company. Although it exists in Pokemon Sword And Shield‘s files, it currently cannot be acquired in the games via any means, not even by using the Isle Of Armor’s Max Soup.
Apparently, the Pokemon appeared during an intermission period on the stream, where they were showing off various clips from Pokemon Sword And Shield. You can see a screencap of the big moment below, shared by Serebii.net’s Joe Merrick:
Presently, it is unclear whether this was intentional stealth marketing on The Pokemon Company’s part, or if it was a mistake made by the event runners. We will be sure to bring more details about Gigantamax Melmetal when its officially revealed.
