Wayforward has released a new patch for River City Girls which makes a number of significant adjustments to the game.

The most notable of the updates is a change to the game’s secret ending, which can only be accessed after obtaining the Hasebe and Mami earrings. The new secret ending only has a few altered lines of dialogue and artwork, but is different enough that players who weren’t the biggest fans of the original Secret Ending may want to check the new version out.

Aside from this, the following fixes were implemented:

• The input for transitioning between areas and interacting with NPCs has been updated! Hold down the attack button to perform the action.
• Books now provide the intended effects for all characters.
• Riki’s shadow combo has been adjusted to remain onscreen.
•  Various additional improvements and bug fixes.
