Earlier this year, Roger Craig Smith, Sonic’s English voice actor for over a decade, announced that he would be retiring from the role on Twitter.
In a surprising turn of events, it has now been confirmed that Smith is now officially back to voicing Sonic in the games. The news was shared on Twitter by Smith with an image of a mended blue heart, a call back to his original retirement announcement. Smith also took the opportunity to thank the fans for their support.
Alongside this announcement, Smith also lent his voice for a special video shared by SEGA to commemorate Sonic’s 30th Anniversary, which you can watch below:
