Rumor: Accessory Maker Claims To Have Real Switch 2, Console Will Launch In April 2025

Earlier today, Switch accessory maker Genki began showing off products they are making for the Switch’s successor at the CES 2025 convention, demonstrated using a mockup of the yet to be revealed console.

Speaking to French journalist Nicolas Lellouche from Numerama, the accessory maker reportedly claimed to have a real Switch 2 console in their possession. Although this in itself is not too surprising, they went on to claim that the Switch 2 is planned to launch in April 2025, although they did not know when it will be officially announced.

Lellouche’s comments can be found below, translated via google:

The Nintendo Switch 2 is invited to #CES2025 with several accessory designers who come to exhibit a model of the console and its accessories. Genki, with whom I was able to speak, claims to own a real Switch 2. Article and video tomorrow on Numerama.

Release everyone says April, announcement they don’t have the info.

Going further, the full report also claims that real units of the Switch 2 are already available on the black market, as long as buyers can “put the money down”.

According to some accessory makers, it’s possible to acquire it on the black market “if you put up some money .” This could be a lie to keep the myth alive, but accessory makers are proudly claiming to own the real Nintendo console.

As with all reports of this nature, we caution readers to take this with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more as it comes.
