Last year, The Pokemon Company announced Pokemon Champions, a new Pokemon battle simulator for Switch and mobile devices that would become the main format for competitive battling later this year.
While we have not heard much about the game for some time, speculation is growing that it might be releasing on 27th February 2026, which is this year’s Pokemon Day and would mark a year since Pokemon Champions‘ initial reveal.
This speculation is being fueled in part by dataminer Kaphotics, who shared an image of what is believed to be the game’s new icon, saying that he has “high confidence” that Pokemon Champions will release on Pokemon Day.
It is not known where Kaphotics’ high confidence comes from, as he is not known to have insider sources. Some believe that he could have datamined info about Pokemon Champions from Pokemon HOME, although there have been no other parties coming out to support or debunk this claim.
As with all rumors of this nature, we caution readers to take this info with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
