Last year, developer 10:10 Games released their first game Funko Fusion, a massive crossover adventure game based on the Funko Pop line of collectable figures.
Unfortunately, it seems the game was met with less than stellar reception, with serious consequences for the developer. According to a report from Insider Gaming, 10:10 Games has laid off several employees in the past few months, giving them “bare legal minimum” with no severance packages.
Sources told Insider Gaming that these layoffs were due to the “complete commercial and critical failure” of Funko Fusion, which resulted in the studio failing to secure funding for more than one future project. Staff were told that there “isn’t enough work to give the whole team”, although the next project has yet to be finalized according to the report.
At the time of this writing, 10:10 Games has yet to officially comment on the matter. Stay tuned for more as it comes.
