Rumor: Insider Claims That Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald Coming To Switch Later This Year

Earlier this year, The Pokemon Company released ports of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen for the Nintendo Switch, which went on to perform extremely well on the new console.

According to insider Shpeshal_Nick, The Pokemon Company is looking to repeat this success with ports of Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald in September or October 2026. Shpeshal_Nick gained fame for accurately leaking a number of past Nintendo projects, lending a little bit of reliability to his claims.

Currently, the ports of Pokémon Ruby/Emerald/Sapphire are planned for late September/October

That said, these ports being worked in is a relatively safe bet. Dataminers previously uncovered support for connecting to Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald within the ports of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen on Switch. Furthermore, The Pokemon Company has been conducting a major marketing campaign revolving around Rayquaza, the cover Legendary of Pokemon Emerald.

At the time of this writing, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have yet to make any official announcement of these ports. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
