Rumor: LEGO Game Boy Will Feature Legend Of Zelda Link’s Awakening

A few months back, Nintendo and LEGO announced the LEGO Game Boy, a buildable brick rendition of Nintendo’s iconic handheld.

According to LEGO leaker lego_minecraft_goat, the set will feature references to The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The collaboration’s previous Nintendo console, the LEGO NES, featured Super Mario Bros. in the form of a TV that could be attached to the LEGO console. Presumably, this means we can expect Link’s Awakening to appear running on the LEGO Game Boy’s screen.

Prior to this leak, many fans speculated that the LEGO Game Boy would feature either Tetris or Pokemon as iconic games representing the console. Speculation for the latter was strengthened further when LEGO and Pokemon announced their own separate collaboration earlier this year.

That said, it seems Nintendo has chosen to use on of its own flagship franchises as the representative, rather than a series they only own partially (Pokemon) or not at all (Tetris).
