Rumor: More Reports Of Switch 2 Feature Codenamed “Campus” Surface
A few months ago, a social hub feature codenamed “Campus” was rumored for the Switch 2, reportedly accessed via the mysterious “C” button seen on the console.
Now, these rumors have resurfaced thanks to a post from user LiC on Famiboards. LiC asserts that the codename “Campus” is in fact real, and is related to features for communicating and playing with friends. They also say that it has “nothing to do with social media or Miiverse-type sharing features”, potentially dashing the hopes of fans that the latter would be returning in some form.
Separately, user albumin provided some additional context for Campus, showing off a Discord screenshot where it is claimed that the feature was datamined from the current Switch OS and SDK leaks.
All of this info echoes the rumors from earlier this year, which also claimed that Campus would support group chat, voice chat, screen sharing, and more for up to 12 Switch Online subscribers at a time.
That said, we will not have long to find out whether these rumors are true, as Nintendo is set to fully reveal the Switch 2 in a dedicated Nintendo Direct tomorrow.
