Following a long period of relative silence, some new rumors have surfaced claiming the next Nintendo Direct presentation could be just over the horizon.

Firstly, there was a post published by the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit mods, which claimed they received credible proof that a Nintendo Direct was being planned for February 7th 2023. This claim was reportedly from an “employee for company working closely with Nintendo”, who replied that a direct on this date was “confirmed”. Aside from the Direct, the source also claimed to know that there “isn’t plans for a new/successor to the Switch this year”. That said, the mods of the subreddit eventually deleted the post, seemingly due to losing confidence in the claim.

Following this post, industry insider Jeff Grubb chimed in with his own info. In a podcast posted on Youtube, Grubb claimed that he also heard rumors of a Direct on the “week of February 6th”, which lines up with the aforementioned reddit rumor. As Grubb has shared reliable info in the past, this lends a bit more credibility to the rumors of a Direct happening around that time.

Everything I’m hearing—and it’s all just sort of reiterating it—it continues to be the week of February 6.”

“Over and over and over again, every little detail I get is, basically, a week from now, we should begin hearing about all this stuff.”

That said, at the time of this writing, we have yet to receive an official announcement from Nintendo. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
