Rumor: Nintendo Plans To Use Upgraded Nvidia Graphics Chip In Upcoming New Switch Model
Bloomberg has published another report about a possible “Pro” model of Switch, which has been rumored to be in the works for many years.
This time, “people familiar with the matter” have voiced claims that the new model of Switch will include and updated Nvidia Graphics Chip, which will “bring better CPU and increased memory”, as well as support for Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) to render high-fidelity graphics better with artificial intelligence.
Taken together with the previously rumored OLED Samsung display, Nvidia’s upgraded chipset will allow the new Switch to support 4K graphics in docked mode, according to the people. However, these improvements will apparently only be visible in brand new titles for the console, since DLSS requires new code to work.
That said, as with all rumors of this nature, we caution readers to take them with a grain of salt. We will be sure to report back with more details as they come.
