Following the console’s massive success, Nintendo is reportedly making preparations to significantly ramp up production of the Switch 2.
This report comes via Bloomberg, whose sources claim that Nintendo has asked its suppliers to produce 25 million Switch 2 units by March 2026. Nintendo’s assembly partners believe that they should be able to sell around 20 million units total during this fiscal year, exceeding analyst estimates of 17.6 million units.
Nintendo is clearly sparing no expense to cement the success of the Switch 2. Their previous financial results briefing indicated they had more than doubled their marketing spending during the console’s June launch. So far, it seems their efforts are paying off, with Circana research highlighting that Switch 2 sales are trending 77% higher than the Switch 1 in the US.
