Rumor: Pokemon Let’s Go! Is The Official Name Of Pokemon Switch

If you’ve been keeping up with the news in the past few days, you may have noticed that rumors about the upcoming Pokemon Switch RPG have been intensifying.

In the last few hours, multiple industry insiders and sources have come out, seemingly agreeing on one thing – the name of the Pokemon RPG for Nintendo Switch.

The name, called “Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu” and “Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee”, first appeared on 4chan along with an official Japanese logo for Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu.

The 4chan leaker revealed a few more details that line up with what we’ve heard from other sources – it’s a Pokemon Yellow remake (as teased by NintenDaan), an announcement is coming soon (teased by Emily Rogers), and there is some sort of tie in to Pokemon GO (again, teased by Emily Rogers).

There will be two versions, Pikachu and Eevee, and both Red and Blue will play a role in the story. You and your rival are new trainers.

What makes things interesting is how players will catch Pokemon in Pokemon Let’s Go!. Instead of turn based mechanics, catching Pokemon will “work similarly” to Pokemon GO. There’s also word of integration between Pokemon Let’s Go and Pokemon GO for smartphones.

A new accessory will be created for both games which trainers can use, and there are rewards for linking both games together. The PokeRide feature from Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will make a return, and a trainer hub is accessible online.

Other important industry figures that seem to have corroborated with the Pokemon Let’s Go leaks include GameXplain’s Jon Cartwright, Twitter user Pixelpar, and Twitter user Nibel.

What do you think? Either way, we’re all going to find out what happens by E3 next month. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
