Rumor: Publisher Seemingly Confirms That Nintendo Is Offering Smaller Switch 2 Cart Sizes
Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that Nintendo was planning to offer smaller Switch 2 cartridge sizes to developers and publishers as an alternative to Game-Key cards and the standard 64GB Switch 2 cart.
Following these reports, publisher ININ Games shared a post on social media seemingly confirming that Nintendo was indeed offering smaller Switch 2 carts to developers. Specifically, ININ Games announced that their physical release for R-Type Dimensions III will now come on a cart instead of a Game-Key card, saying that Nintendo has officially announced two smaller cart sizes for the Switch 2. However, this post was soon deleted off social media, although it has been archived below (via Wario64).

ININ Games then issued a retraction of their statement, saying that there has been no official announcement of new Switch 2 cart sizes from Nintendo, and that their words should not be taken as official confirmation.
There has been no official announcement or confirmation from Nintendo concerning cartridge storage capacities. Any references to specific storage sizes should not be interpreted as official information from Nintendo.
At this time, we can only confirm that our upcoming release R-Type Dimensions III will be on a physical cartridge. No further technical details regarding cartridge specifications have been officially confirmed.
One interpretation of these events is that while Nintendo is indeed offering Game-Key card alternatives to select publishers, they are either unwilling or not ready to make this information public knowledge.
