Sakurai: Isabelle Wasn’t Added To Smash Bros. Ultimate To Appeal To Casuals

In the second part of the Nintendo Dream interview with Masahiro Sakurai, the director talked about the development of Animal Crossing’s Isabelle as a fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Contrary to popular belief, Isabelle wasn’t introduced as a fighter to appeal to the casual audience. Despite her “cute appearance”, Sakurai says he’s realized hardcore players enjoy playing as Isabelle.

Sakurai added both Isabelle and Villager are technical fighters, and Isabelle can be harder to fight since she has a lot of tools at her disposal.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Thanks, PushDustin.
