Sakurai Named “Most Valuable Creator” At Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2021

Famitsu has shared the winners of their annual Famitsu / Dengeki Game Awards for 2021.

The awards were voted on by fans living in Japan, including categories for games as well as creators and voice actors. This year, Masahiro Sakurai was named “Most Valuable Creator” for his work on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, beating out Final Fantasy XV producer  Naoki Yoshida and the Resident Evil Village Dev Team. Over on Twitter, Sakurai thanked the fans for their support of him and his team.

Other notable award winners at the show were Monster Hunter Rise for Game Of The Year, Metroid Dread for Best Action Adventure game, and Hades for best indie game. You can check out the full list of winners below, via Siliconera:
