Scripts For Two Unaired Pokemon Anime Episodes Surface Online
After 12 years as lost media, the scripts for the never-before-seen Pokemon anime episodes Team Rocket VS Team Plasma (Part 1 & Part 2) have surfaced online.
For those who may not be aware, these episodes were planned to feature an epic confrontation between the Team Rocket and the villain organization Team Plasma, with the latter making their first official appearance in the show.
However, due to the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami and the subsequent Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, these episodes were pulled from the air. It is believed that this was because the episodes featured a great amount of destruction and property damage, which would have been seen as insensitive to the then recent disasters.
Recently, Bulbagarden forum user ObjectionMan made a post revealing that the scripts for these two scrapped episodes had been purchased by an anonymous buyer at an online auction. The buyer had acquired the scripts in 2013, sharing them only with a friend whom ObjectionMan made contact with. ObjectionMan had discussed with this friend about purchasing the scripts for the public, even arranging for a fundraiser to do so, but this anonymous individual eventually agreed to release the script for free.
You can find a link to these script documents below, albeit they are all in Japanese.
The history has been made today. 🙌

With The Pokemon Company having quietly shelved these two lost episodes of the anime, it is likely that these scripts will be the closest we can get to finding out what could have been. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
