Sega has announced via Twitter that their long awaited Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Mini will be releasing worldwide on September 19 2019.
Previously scheduled to be released last year, Sega’s take on the retro plug-and-play console was delayed to 2019 to accommodate this worldwide release. The standard version with one controller is priced at 6,980 yen (approx. $70 USD), while the two-controller version is priced at 8,980 yen (approx. $90 USD). The console will contain 40 titles, with the following 10 being confirmed:
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Puyo Puyo Tsu
- Shining Force
- Vampire Killer
- Wrestleball
- Gunstar Heroes
- Comix Zone
- Rent A Hero
- Space Harrier II
- Madou Monogatari I
