SEGA Of Japan Hosting Sonic 2020 Broadcast On March 27

Bummed out by the cancellation of the Sonic panel at SXSW? Well, you can soon experience a little Sonic fanfare from Japan instead!

SEGA of Japan has announced that it will be hosting its own ‘Sonic 2020‘ broadcast on 27 March 2020 (8 pm JST / 7 am EDT). While details are sparse, we know the following for now:

  • A new merchandise collaboration is expected
  • Discussion of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games 2020.
  • Hosted by Kazuyuki Hoshino (Sonic Team character designer)
  • Jun Senoue (songwriter and lead guitarist for Crush 40) will make a special guest appearance.

We’ll report back if and when we get an update on how to catch this event in English. Stay tuned!
