SEGA “Super Game” Making “Steady Headway”, Still Aiming For March 2026 Launch
Back in 2021, SEGA announced plans for a mysterious “Super Game”, which involved “innovative new titles” with an emphasis on a global online community and “IP Utilization”.
In SEGA’s latest annual report, the company revealed that the Super Game is making “steady headway” and still aiming for its planned March 2026 release window. Even so, they have still yet to share any specifics about what this Super Game actually is, with their annual report only stating that the concept “stands head and shoulders above normal games” and will “build a whole new worldview involving the entire gaming ecosystem”.
We are also making steady headway in development of the “Super Game” that we are seeking to create in the medium to long term. As the name implies, a “Super Game” involves the concept of a game that stands head and shoulders above normal games. I encourage stakeholders to look forward to the fruit of our efforts, which include R&D to create a game that builds a whole worldview involving the entire gaming ecosystem, including not only players but also streamers who stream the game and their viewers.
Although still vague in description, it seems SEGA’s higher ups still have high hopes for the Super Game project, having previously claimed that it could earn them as much as 100 billion yen (just over $670 million USD) in it’s lifetime once released. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
