Nintendo has confirmed that Super Smash Bros Ultimate has sold 13.81 million copies as of March 2019, which is more than what the WiiU sold in its entire lifetime (13.56 million consoles).
This impressive figure comes from Nintendo’s latest financial statement, which highlights the best selling games from the last financial year (April 2018 to March 2019). It is notable that Smash Ultimate achieved this milestone within just four months, having just gone on sale last December.
In addition to outselling the WiiU, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s latest sales milestone also puts it ahead of Super Smash Bros Brawl, which only achieved 13.3 million copies in its lifetime. That said, it has still yet to surpass the combined sales of Super Smash Bros. For WiiU and 3DS, which sit at around 14.85 million according to some estimates.
