According to GoNintendo (link), a number of people are reporting a bug with Sega’s latest Sonic game on the Nintendo Switch, Sonic Mania. The bug causes a lag when trying to use the Screenshot button on the left joycon or home button on the right joycon.
As the game was just released, it is hard to tell how widespread the problem is at the moment. However, if the problem persists and is large enough to catch Sega’s attention, it is unlikely that Sega will turn a blind eye to their blue mascot.

I have same problem
I have this issue in both hand held and docked.
I can't turn the switch off or return to dash the only way out of the game is to hold the power button on top of switch for about 10 seconds.
Another issue with the game is that sometimes when your controlling the plane, it may not allow you to move diagonally
