Sonic Team Reportedly Interested In Remaking Sonic ’06
Earlier this year, SEGA released Sonic X Shadow Generations, a remake of Sonic Generations with updated features and new content.
During a Q&A session at an official Sonic The Hedgehog fanmeet held in Jakarta, Indonesia, Sonic X Shadow Generations producer Shun Nakamura was asked about the chances of other older titles such as Sonic ’06, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 getting the remake treatment, as well as a potential Sonic Adventure 3. Nakamura responded that both old and new Sonic games remain appealing, and according to a report from Tails Channel, has previously said he would pick Sonic ’06 for a remake.

Fans might remember Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) AKA Sonic ’06 as one of the series’ most divisive titles, criticized heavily for both its story and gameplay. If there is any Sonic game that would be improved by a remake, it is probably Sonic ’06, although whether veteran players would be willing to give the game another shot is dubious.
