Nintendo of Europe has announced it’s increasing the prices of all first party games and DLC on the South Africa Nintendo Switch eShop on January 21, 2019.
According to the company, the increase is being made to “reflect market conditions”. It is unclear how much of a price increase the eShop is going to see, so we will have to wait until the prices are raised.
The South Africa eShop is frequently used by Nintendo Switch owners living in other countries to take advantage of lower prices. The price raise could be a move by Nintendo to block this loophole, at the expense of South African players.
