Nintendo and JAMSTEC (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology) have announced a Splatoon 2 collaboration in Japan.
First up, the next Splatfest taking place in Japan is sponsored by JAMSTEC. Theme for the Splatfest is “Which side are you in love with? Living things that are yet to be discovered, or advance technology?” The Splatfest will take place between April 21, 15:00 to April 22, 2018 15:00 Japan Time.
In April 2018, Inklings who participate in Salmon Run will be able to obtain a special gear called Ocean Special. Ocean Special is a helmet that resembles the real life helmet JAMSTEC employees wear at work.
The official Splatoon 2 X JAMSTEC website has also set up a page for Inklings to learn more about the ocean and its creatures. In addition, real life events featuring the collaboration seem to be on the way too.
