Earlier this year, Nintendo announced the cancellation of Nintendo LIVE Tokyo – which which led to the postponement of world championship tournaments for Splatoon 3 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe that were originally slated for the event in Japan. Well, fans of both games can now mark their calendars with new dates to catch the competitions later this year.
Nintendo has confirmed that both the Splatoon 3 World Championship 2024 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Championship 2024 will now take place from 13 – 14 April 2024. Both championships will be available to watch live online via YouTube or NicoNico.
Notably, there will be no live spectators at either event – most likely due to concerns arising from “persistent threats” that targeted Nintendo employees when both championships were first announced alongside Nintendo LIVE Tokyo.
Specific timings for both tournaments will be shared at a later date on Nintendo’s official website.
