Recently, a now abandoned YouTube channel called The Yellowist (who made Splatoon Gary’s Mod parodys) was featured on CBS New York for their videos being unsafe for kids.
The video itself does star Splatoon characters and does take place in the Splatoon world but it is not actually aimed at kids.

The news report calls Splatoon a different game called Roblox so it seems they do not really know too much about the game itself.
This video was originally given attention to by a site called “pedimom” which accused the video of giving children ideas of suicide despite it not even having many views or being aimed at kids.

The original YouTube video has now since been deleted by the user so we can not really see what else may have been in the video to make CBS pick this up.
