Earlier today, Square Enix announced a new smartphone game called Octopath Traveler: Supreme Ruler of the Continent in Japan.

To calm down fans who are waiting for a new console entry in the Octopath Traveler series, the company said they need more time to develop it. We have no idea which platforms it’s coming but it’s safe to assume Nintendo Switch is one of them (or even the only one).

“Everyone who waits for a new console game, sorry, we will need more time for developing.”

Looks like we’ll probably have to wait at least a few more years for the next Octopath Traveler sequel.
