Yesterday, Final Fantasy director Hajime Tabata announced his resignation from Square Enix, which came as a shock to many Final Fantasy fans all over the world.
Because of his resignation and the cancelation of upcoming Final Fantasy XV DLC, Square Enix shares tanked by 2% the day after, but recovered into the afternoon on November 9 in Japan.
Interesting, Tabata also received many calls from companies who wanted to hire him. But as he has said before, it’s planning to start his own company to work on a new video game project, so nothing is going to change.
“I will be participating in this event. And although I’m jobless at the moment, I will do my very best.
Yesterday, I heard my name was trending on the news. And thanks to that, I’ve been getting lots of calls from headhunting companies right now.
But— I do have intentions of starting my own company.”

Thanks, Brandon.
